How to delete your WindChat account and personal data
1. Overview
This page explains how WindChat users can request deletion of their account and associated personal data. It applies to users of the iOS and Android apps and related services operated by Ostwind.
2. Delete your account in the app
Open WindChat, go to Profile, then Settings. Use the account deletion option if available, or contact support to initiate deletion. You may need to confirm your identity (for example with OTP sent to your registered phone number).
3. Request deletion by email
You may email support@windchat.net from the address linked to your account or include your registered phone number and full name. Subject line suggestion: "WindChat account deletion request". We will verify ownership before processing.
4. What is deleted
After verified deletion we remove or anonymize profile data, authentication records, and message metadata associated with your account within a reasonable period, unless retention is required by law. Backups and diagnostic logs may be purged on a rolling schedule.
5. Third-party login (Google, Facebook)
If you signed in with Google or Facebook, deleting your WindChat account removes data stored by WindChat. To revoke the connection with the provider, use your Google or Facebook account settings. For Meta platform compliance, this URL serves as our user data deletion instructions page.
